According to sources, reported by Roch Kubatko, the Baltimore Orioles will need to find a new third base coach as DeMarlo Hale, the Orioles third base coach last season, has accepted a position with the Toronto Blue Jays as their bench coach.

Hale signed on with the Orioles prior to the 2012 season and is regarded as one of the best third base coaches in the big leagues. Hale also worked with Baltimore's infielders, so whomever replaces him will need to be able to do the same, or Baltimore could rely more on Mike Bordick who is an instructor and former Orioles shortstop.

DeMarlo will be the only member of the 2012 coaching staff not returning to the Orioles, as Baltimore was able to successfully bring back the other five, including pitching coach Rick Adair and hitting coach Jim Presley.

The O's have not yet announced a replacement for Hale, and have not decided whether to promote from within or go outside the organization.
