The Baltimore Orioles 2012 season was filled with excitement and it continues to do so as the excitement of success is rolling over into their minor league system as 29 minor leaguers have confirmed that they will report on February 18th for an early mini-camp with Double A Bowie Baysox manager Gary Kendall.

This is impressive as the official start to minor league spring training is not till March 2nd for pitchers and catchers, and March 7 for position players, so it is good to see so many players taking the initiative to improve themselves just to be a part of the Orioles recent success.

Below is the list of players confirmed to be reporting early, which include several who have interviewed with Orioles101 over this offseason:

  • Tim Berry
  • Tom Boleska
  • Parker Bridwell
  • Zach Davies
  • Rob Delaney
  • Jason Gurka
  • Devin Jones
  • Branden Kline
  • Zach Petersime
  • Chris Petrini
  • Matt Taylor
  • Tyler Wilson
  • Zech Zinicola

  • Zane Chavez
  • Caleb Joseph
  • Michael Ohlman
  • Steel Russell
  • Brian Ward

  • Glynn Davis
  • Johnny Ruettiger
  • Brenden Webb

As both a writer and fan of the Orioles, I love seeing so many guys that are willing to cut their offseason short in order to improve their craft and get a head start on the rest. When players do this, they are showing the organization and all of baseball that they have the drive to make themselves Major League ball players. Baltimore's pitchers and catchers report on Tuesday and baseball is right around the corner, who is as excited as we are for baseball to start?
